Developing Adult Numeracy

  • PDF

This course was developed by Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) with project funding from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and the former National Literacy Secretariat of Canada.

Developing Adult Numeracy (DAN) is designed primarily as a resource for Literacy and Basic Skills practitioners in Ontario, however, educators from other jurisdictions may also find the course relevant. It is based upon prior project work by OCDSB on practitioner needs and effective professional development in numeracy teaching, blended with research of current thinking and practice in adult numeracy worldwide.
